Assuming his information to becorrect, the brotherhood officials said theGovernments action in letting contractsto a private concern was not consistentwith a public ownership policy and itsprofessions to relieve unemployment,since the work would be confined to cer-tain cities, instead of being spread overthe country, as would be the case if theGovernment would insist that the workbe done in Canadian National Railwaysshops, which, he stated, were capable of.
