Theyare shipwrecked and left on a desert island. The butler, Crichton,who seems to be the only level-headed person among them, takes theupper hand and reigns supreme while on the island. At the end of twoyears, Lady Mary, who has been engaged to an English lord, whomshe hopes never to see again, has fallen desperately in love with Crich-ton.
