Col. James R. "Bob" Stevenson, commander of the 155th Air Refueling Wing, flew his final flight Aug. 3, 2017, at the Nebraska National Guard air base, in Lincoln, Nebraska. A "fini" flight, as it is traditionally known, is a pilot's final flight before transferring units or retiring. Stevenson, who had been the commander of the 155th ARW since Aug. 2014, relinquished command of the 155th ARW Aug. 5 to Col. Robert E. Hargens. Stevenson will now take on the role Nebraska Air National Guard Director of Operations at the Nebraska National Guard's Joint Force Headquarters. His "go to" attitude and sense of humor will be dearly missed. "I want my last flight to be as good as my whole career," said Stevenson as they prepared for the flight. Despite it being a fun flight, Stevenson reminded his crew to enjoy the comradery of the flight but to keep in mind they were still representing the wing and to go for finesse.
