Syphilis agglutination test. Scientist working for the UK's Health Protection Agency carrying out a test for the sexually transmitted disease syphilis. She is using the Treponema pallidum particle agglutination (TP-PA) test from the Serodia company. Syphilis is a disease caused by the Treponema pallidum bacterium. Once diagnosed, all stages are treated with penicillin antibiotic drugs.
