'Ernst Moritz Arndt', (1933). Portrait of German nationalist author and poet Ernst Moritz Arndt (1769-1860). Arndt fought for the abolition of serfdom, and later against Napoleonic dominance over Germany. He is one of the main founders of German nationalism and the 19th century movement for German unification.
