Thegolden tint of many of the specimens may be due to the peatynature of the soil, but very closely resembles the condition ofsome bronze implements found in the Thames (Case A). Thecomposition of the metal varies, but all the pieces have a con-siderable proportion of tin, unlike the common flat celt of of the Dowris celts contains 85-23 per cent, of copper, 13-11.
