STATEMENT ON INSPECTION FOR TRUENESS TO NAME September 12, 1946 To Whom it may concern: This is to state that all the saleable Peach trees now growing in the Bountiful Ridge Nur- series, Princess Anne, Md., have been examined for TRUENESS-TO-NAME by A. P. French, O. C. Roberts, W. D. AVeeks and W. H. Thies, and any mixtures observed were rectified. While it is impossible to positively identify all peach varieties in the nursery row, it is pos- sible to eliminate a high percentage of the mix- tures. J. K. Shaw THE 1946-47 PEACH TREE SUPPLY Reliable reports from Nurserymen and personal observations indicate the shortest supply of peach trees available to the planter we have known in manj' years. Seedling stock for budding, shortage of skilled Nursery laborers and unnatural weather conditions have again combined to cut National peach tree production to about 30% normal. Our supply at Bountiful Ridge is about the same as last year or 35% normal. This is the fourth year of general tree shortage and not much chance of improvement before Fall 1947. Every planter can realize what this means. Large commercial plantings have been and will continue to be cur- tailed. You should take the best of care of your existing trees.
