YOKOSUKA, Japan (March 23, 2017) Vice Adm. Herman A. Shelanski, Naval Inspector General, points to an embroidered representation of the ship’s battle flag as he describes the connection between it and President Ronald Reagan aboard the Navy's only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). Shelanski toured the ship as part of his area visit of Commander, Navy Region Japan. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the collective maritime interests of its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
