This monument stands at the original site of the 1969 Woodstock festival on the former Max Yasgur farm in Bethel, New York. Later owners placed the monument. Beyond and behind the fence the natural amphitheater which was populated by nearly half a million people can be seen. At the far left. the edge of a dirt patch marks the spot where the original stage was. There is now a concert hall and museum called Bethel Woods at the top of the hill, out of sight at the far right.
