When several men are employedon adjoining beats, there is always a risk of acertain amount of jealousy between them, whichmay lead to all kinds of unpleasantness. Whenthe shooting season comes round, each manthinks that his birds have gone over to theadjoining beat; consequently, the followingseason, there will probably be a rush to takethe boundary eggs in order to put them in themiddle of the beat, and instead of all workingtogether, it becomes a case of one man againstthe other.
