GREAT LAKES, Il. (Sep. 22, 2022) Capt. (ret.) John White tours the USS Whitehat, during his visit to the Aubrey H. Gunn building on Naval Station Great Lakes. The building was dedicated to White's grandfather, Lt. Cmdr. Aubrey H. Gunn who joined the Navy in 1919 as a boatswain's mate, commisioned as an ensign in 1941, and served as a commanding officer on three ships in WWII.
