Ice floe broken off from Columbia Glacier Prince William Sound Alaska USA


Columbia Glacier is perhaps the biggest glacier flowing down from the Chugach Mountains into Prince William Sound. In recent years it has retreated several miles (probably due to a structural fault in the glacier, not due to global warming), leaving a huge bay in front of it, choked with vast numbers of icebergs.
