The conglomerate that outcropsat Larder Lake village, and which is intruded by lamprophyre, is similar to that atKirkland lake, and for purposes of correlation may be called Timiskaming. Thesimilarity of the conglomerate at Larder lake to the Timiskaming series at Cobalt hasbeen referred to by Mr. M. E. Wilson. Thesimilarity of the conglomerate at Larder lake to the Timiskaming series at Cobalt hasbeen referred to by Mr. M. E. Wilson. It is possible that there may be an unconformity in the series which is mapped asTimiskaming, , the lower portion, consisting largely of slate, glossy schist, andcarbonate rock, may have been eroded before the deposition of the upper, largely con-glomerate portion of the series. There is a concordance in the strike of the sediments, and no unconformities were observed; hence all these sediments were mapped as oneseries. Memoir No. 17-E, Geological Survey, Canada, p. 3S. 1914 The Kirkland Lake and Swastika Qald Areas 11. Timiskaming series, exposed on the Dane^Larder lake road.
