Wilshire, who is making Los An-geles his permanent home, entertained about fiftyof his friends there last Saturday evening. Lottowas played and handsome prizes awarded, and anelaborate supper was served at the California Club. The Friday Fortnightly Club gave a Darty atLunts Hall on Friday evening. The attendancewas much larger than usual. It was originally in-tended to make this a Christmas cotillion, but theillness of Mrs. Gordon Blanding and the absencein the East of Mrs. Monroe Salisbury preventedproper arrangements being made. Several figuresof the cotillion were danced under the leadershipof Mr. Edward M. Greenway and Miss Kate Salis-bury. They were assisted by Miss Sawyer, MissSusie Blanding, Miss Hobart, and Miss JessieGlascock. The officers and ladies at the Presidio gave ahop last Monday evening.
