ISKRA & POGORIA, Polish sister-ships docked in portsmouth harbour, Hmaphisre, england during IFOS 2005

both of these polish training vessels were built at Gdansk, the Pogoria in 1980 for the Iron Shackle Fraternity, and the Iskra in 1982 for the Polish Navy. both vessels are 48 meters in length and are manned by 22 professional mariners, and 45 naval cadets under training (Iskra) and 38 paying trainees (Pogoria). in 1995 & 1996 Iskra made a round-the-world voyage, sailing 37,000 nautical miles.
