LUNG, ANATOMY
Model of the intern anatomy of the chest of an asexual adult human body, face on. The heart withdrawal makes visible the right and left main lung bronchi (in light blue), first branching of the aerial respiratory tract. The bronchial tree (in white), shown in the left lung, includes the main, lobar and segmental bronchi, and then the bronchioles and terminal bronchioles. The lung blood circulation is composed of the pulmonary arteries (in blue), carrying the deoxygenated blood to the alveoli, and the pulmonary veins (in red), which send back the oxygenated blood to the heart. The right lung, divided in three lobes, is depicted in frontal section; the bronchial tree and the blood vessels appear for that reason in sections.
