NEW BOSTON SPACE FORCE STATION, – Pictured are remnants of a P-51 Mustang which crashed on Jan. 14, 1949, at New Boston Space Force Station, , Sept. 16, 2022. Capt. Elmer V. Kramer, 95th Fighter Squadron pilot, was on a training dive-bomb mission when the left flipper door of his P-51 Mustang was ripped off, followed by the rest of the wing. Kramer was killed on impact, but his story and plane remain on the Space Force station to this day.
