Tothese localities principally we owe the success of our expedition. In the course of our travels we visited the ancient Indian villagesalong the Chaco River, a few miles to the south of Kimbetoh. Bestknown of these are the extensive ruins of Pueblo Bonito and adjacentsites which have been included in a national monument. During the later part of our stay in the San Juan Basin we hadthe good fortune to meet Dr. T. F. Reynolds and his party fromSt. Louis Lniversity, and a few days later. Dr. G. G. Simpson withhis father and daughter, all of whom joined us for a brief visit tothe upper Torrejon exposures in Arroyo Torrejon. 19 20 SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTION. :?«:. t^ il«.-<8B- Fig. Cainp at Kimbetoh.
