For the last fourteenyears he has conducted a livers^ and sale stable inthis progressive and enterprising place, and hasbuilt up an enviable reputation for his fairness inall his business transactions. Atfirst he lived in Cooper Count}^ subsequently wentto Pettis, and finally came to this county, wherehe has ever since lived. His main occupation inlife has been that of farming, in which he hasbeen very successful. Though now well along inyears, he is still active and bids fair to live manyyears. His good wife, who was formerly SarahJane Gillum, is also enjoying good health, andis well preserved. She was born in Kentucky,and with her parents came to this county in hergirlhood. The birth of W. G. Ramsey took place County, March 29, 1847, ^^^ being thesixth in a family of twelve children. His boy-hood was passed quietly on the home farm, hisschooling being quite limited. At the age oftwenty-three he left home, making his own livingthenceforward. The first year he engaged infarming in this vicinity, but later he moved toTexas, where he not only cultivated a farm, butbought and sold .stock ext
