Blue sky dawn portrait, from Monbijoubrucke, Bode Museum reflecting in glassy waters of Spree Canal, Museum Island, Berlin
Berlin's Bode Museum, opened in 1904 as the Kaiser Friedrich Museum, was re-named in 1956 after its first curator, Wilhelm von Bode. It was badly damaged during World War 2, being generally restored in the 1990s. It houses Old Master Byzantine and Gothic paintings, sculptures and a vast numismatic collection. An early morning view of reflections in the Spree Canal, on the west side of Museum Island.
