Thousands of Palestinian gathered in several locations along the Gaza-Israeli border for the 25th Great March of Return rally, and according to the Gaza health ministry a 17-year-old Palestinian, Bilal Khafaja, was shot dead by Israeli soldiers during clashes east of Rafah, while dozens of protesters were wounded at this Friday demonstration. Some Palestinian protesters were burning tyres to reduce the visibility of Israeli snipers deployed on the other side of the fence, while others were throwing stones towards the fence. According to Israeli official sources incendiary balloons were launched from Gaza into southern Israel. Protesters have been demanding the end of the Israeli blockade on Gaza and support for the right of Palestinian refugees of the 1948 war to return to their ancestral land.
