Problem snoring is more frequent in males and overweight persons and it usually grows with age. When a blockage to the free flow of air through airways happens this causes snoring. The Continuous Positive Airway Pressure(CPAP) puts air into your passages through a mask such as this one. It keeps enough pressure that when you inhale it keeps your airway open. Almost half of normal adults snore occasionally and a quarter are habitual snorers. Problem snoring is more frequent in males and overweight persons and it usually grows with age. The amount of sleep needed depends on many factors including age. About 50 percent of adults over 65 have a sleep disorder of some type. We sleep and wake due to chemical changes in our blood and ingested items can have a large effect on ability to sleep.
