Crocheron House, Historic Richmondtown, Staten Island, New York

The house was built in 1819-20 by wholesale grocer Jacob Crocheron (1758–1827) in the Greenridge section of Staten Island. He had formerly lived on Whitehall Street in Manhattan. He moved here in 1820 and lived with his wife Ann, a daughter and two slaves. The family sold the house in 1849 and it passed through various owners until it was purchased by the Staten Island Historical Society and moved to its present location in 1987. It is an official New York City landmark.
