Plants villous often silvery looking, forming a tuft about 2-4 cm tall (not counting the flowering branches); leaves closely overlapping, 5-10 mm long, narrowly ovate to oblong or ob- lanceolate, mm broad, acute or obtuse, pilose, especially on the margins and tips, with long white hairs; flower cluster compact when sessile among the leaves or sometimes raceme- like when borne on a leafy flowering branch up to T cm long; calyx-lobes linear, mm long; corolla tube e([ualing the calyx-lobes, limb vari- able in size (1) 4-5 (7) mm broad, bright blue (rarely white), crests in the throat pubenilent; nutlets smooth, with an entire margin to the trimcated oblique portion, rarely with a few ob- scured teeth.
