Poets' Corner, Westminster Abbey, London, 1815. Poets' Corner is an area in the south transept of Westminster Abbey where a number of notable British literary figures are buried. The first to be buried was Geoffrey Chaucer who, as well as being a writer, was employed as Master of the King's Works and had apartments in the Abbey.
