Kawit, Cavite, Philippines. April 02, 2024: During Easter season, street vendors sell artificially dyed chicks as live Angry Birds. Chicks are soaked/sprayed with dye or injected with food coloring during incubation. Known as kinulayang or fiesta sisiw, multicolored chicks are among children's favorites, imitating fathers who breeds fighting roosters for cockfights. Animal rights activists as Philippine Animal Welfare (PAWS) warn against buying colored chick, kids playing with them as toys, not as pets. Stress usually leads to death within few days.
