Following legal action taken against Natural England by Earth Protector Mark Kier HS2 were ordered to stop felling trees at Jones Hill Wood on 16th April 2021. HS2 have appealled and have now been given permission to start tree felling again despite it being the bird nesting season and that rare Barbastelle bats are known to roost in the woods.
