A huge puppet Godiva Awakes is part of Artists taking the lead, a series of 12 public art commissions across the UK to celebrate the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad, funded by Arts Council England. Godiva is fitted with a pair of 6ft high made-to-measure leather riding boots by Northampton-based bespoke boot maker Horace Batten.

Northampton UK 31st July 2012. A huge puppet Godiva Awakes is part of Artists taking the lead, a series of 12 public art commissions across the UK to celebrate the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad, funded by Arts Council England. Godiva is fitted with a pair of 6ft high made-to-measure leather riding boots by Northampton-based bespoke boot maker Horace Batten. Godiva parades in her new boots through the streets of Northampton. It is a challenge for the 6m () high puppet to manoeuvre around town, she has a overnight stop in town. then completes it's journey which was started in Coventry, arriving at her final destination in London on Sunday 5 August.
