The Shorthorns are natives of Eng- land and Scotland, where they are still raised in large numbers. They are red, white or roan in color, or may be spotted red and white. They are low down and blocky, with a good coating of flesh of good Hereford. GALLOWAY CATTLE. The Galloways are not as large as the other half-breeds and do not mature at such an early age. In other respects there is little to choose between any of the beef breeds.
