The Lago Bleu is a very small lake lying right a the feet of what is probably the most photogenic mountain in the world. The Cervino, better known as Matterhorn outside Italy, is only the third highest peak in the Alps, but certainly the most famous thanks to its unmistakable look. I took this picture on a evening of early November at sunset, along with the first clearing after five days of unceasing snowfalls. Since I noticed that the clouds were moving fast, I opted for a very long exposure (80 seconds) confident that this choice would have produced some beautiful motion blur in the sky. The amazing, very unusual texture on the lake surface is probably due to the fact that the lake was not completely frozen when the snow began to fall.
