A new tower, surmountedby a dome, designed Vjy Mr. T. G. Jackson, , was erected 1900-1 for an im-mense double telescope, the work of Sir H. Grubb, F. R. S., of Dublin. To viewthe instruments of the Observatory, special permission (granted for scientific pur-poses only) must be obtained from the Radcliffe Observer. The grounds by a gateway in the Wotxlstock-road, and opposite, not far to the N., is.
