The public, too, has the same feeling and the people are depositing more money in the banks than they are drawing out. The piling up of spot gold coin is resulting in large ship- ments of it to the east, whence it came for general relief. The different stock exchanges reopened this week for the first time since the holocaust and the wholesale and retail houses are resuming as fast as they can get temporary roofs over their heads, and from now on the return to regular business will be rapid. .\nd surely, from the florists' stand- point, after the stun has come the re- bound. Since many have landed upon their feet there has come a cry for relax- ation. The manner in which Cupid has lieen disporting himself this month of May has been amazing, betrothals and nuptials outnumbering any month of pre- vious record. \\vX all this, the florists tell me, is being and has been prelimi- nary to a volume of flower trade wholly unexpected, but duly appreciated by the few cut flower dealers already estab- lished. .Additional 10 this was the Memorial day business, not up to its record, by any means, but surpris- ingly better than was expected.
