The varieties of tliis class are lender, and will not bear much cold. Plant about the middle of April, if the ground is warm and the season favorable, and at intervals throughout the season for a succession, finishing about the 15th of August. The best mode of culture is in rows 2 feet apart, and the beans 2 inches apart and 2 inches deep in the rows. Keep well hoed, and draw the earth up to tlie stem, but only when dry; working them when wet with rain or dew will cause them to rust and injure the crop. Note.âBeans of all varieties were an extremely short crop last summer, and prices rule higher. We would also advise early orders, as when stocks in hand are sold it will be impossible to replenish ffom reliable sources. If Beans and Peas are wanted by mail, add 8 cts. per pint, 15 cts. per quart, for postage. GREEN PODDEO VARIETIES. â Sion One of the old forcing sorts, with mottled pods, long, flat and tender.
