Y., Dec. 16, 1884. Hannah Maria Barx\es, wife of CharlesM. Barnes, was born at Stockbridge, Mass.,July 11, 1813 ; died at Stockbridge, Mass.,Nov, 4, 1885. She was a daughter of Cap-tain Ross well Palmer who was a sea captaintwenty years. He enlisted in the Continen-tal army when he was sixteen years old ;was taken prisoner and put on board theold Jersey Ship in New York Harbor ; hadthe dropsy and would have died but wastaken off by an old Scotch doctor who tookpity on him.
