Paneveggio - Pale di San Martino natural park.

Paneveggio (Panevége in the local dialect) is a town in the Municipality of Predazzo in Trentino. It is home to the most visited of the visitor centers of the Paneveggio - Pale di San Martino natural park and the "deer enclosure", also managed by the natural park. The locality no longer has any permanent resident during the year, except for the occasional presence of researchers in the park's the surroundings of Paneveggio, there are some interesting places from a tourist point of view: the locality Pulesi, on the shores of Lake Paneveggio (artificial hydroelectric basin); Fort Dossaccio, testimony of the First World War (currently under restoration); the clearing of the Carigole, where concerts of the "Sounds of the Dolomites" are also held. A few kilometers away, in the territory of the municipality of Primiero San Martino di Castrozza, even before the natural "watershed" of Passo Rolle, stands the naturalistic oasis of Val Venegia. In the hamlet there is the old hospice for travelers and the small church dedicated to the Virgin Mary rebuilt in its present form after its destruction due to the First World War. From here comes the famous resonance fir that Stradivarius used to make his violins. Part of the Paneveggio forest disappeared following the bad weather in the Triveneto area of 26-30 October
