Young pre- fully expanded leaves of what may be English Elm / Ulmus procera though might be rarer Cornish Elm [U. var. cornubiensis]. SEE NOTES on ID


Leaf bases of Elms generally have an asymmetrical appearance and these young ones appear to be too young for that to have become apparent. This might be Ulmus minor (Small-leaved Elm) rather than young Ulmus glabra (Wych Elm), since the leaves are quite smooth [in U. glabra they are rough and hairy) while the leaf apex / tip is quite short (in U. glabra the apex is much more sharply pointed). That said, the leaf tips here look as if they could one day become quite tapered in a mature tree leaf specimen, which would make this Wych Elm.
