When the county seat was removed to Little Valley in May, 1868, theRepublican office accompanied it. Mr. Ferrins health broke down againin 1870, but with the exercise of great care he was able to attend to hiseditorial duties. January i, 1873, his brother-in-law, B. B. Weber, who hadbeen an assistant in the office since January i, 1871, became equal partner inthe business, and since then the two have been partners in this and other. h Augustine W. Ferrix. io; publishing enterprises, brfef mention of which are made in this , in 1879, ^^^^ health of Mr. Ferrin became seriously impaired, and hespent apart of the winter and the early summer of 1880 on the Pacific coast,with the hope of restoration, which was fortunately partially realized; butthe strain put upon him in consequence of the destruction of the Republicanoffice by fire in August, 1880, broke him down more effectually than the winter of 1880-81 he was completely incapacitated for work, and itwas generally supposed he would not long survive. There came an improve-ment in the following summer, and in October, 1881, he engaged to doeditorial work on the Buffalo Christian Advocate.
