Transparency in the economic management of administrations has been a pillar that has developed in the last decade after years in which the news of political corruption made the headlines day in and day out. However, the arrival in Spain of the coronavirus vaccine has shown that the "pandemic" of corruption has not been completely eradicated after several public officials have taken advantage of their position to vaccinate themselves and their loved ones before of what the protocol establishes. In less than 48 hours, three public officials have resigned for “skipping the line” of vaccines: the Minister of Health of Murcia, Manuel Villegas, and the former councilors of the PNV and managing directors of the OSI Bilbao Basurto and the Santa Marina hospital in Bilbao, Eduardo Maíz and José Luis Sabas, appointed by the Basque Nationalist Party. Each member country of the European Union (EU) decides who to vaccinate, when and where, but the EU is in charge of coordinating the purchase of vaccines. Last Friday, the European Commission approved the purchase of 300 million more doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, which will guarantee the block almost half of what the pharmaceutical company plans to market in 2021. But the strategy is far from being as effective as that of Israel, the most advanced country in the general immunization of its population. Spain began distributing the vaccine on December 27. In total, 743,925 doses had been distributed among the autonomous communities, the regional administrations, with 277,976 people already vaccinated, according to the most recent figures from the Ministry of Health. The coalition government's goal is to immunize million people in 12 weeks, with priority for nursing home residents, their caregivers and health personnel. Be that as it may, the pandemic has been the source of constant political friction. The opposition accuses the leftist government of Pedro Sánchez of incompetence, lack of transparency and of taking
