This station was established July 22, 1896, and has been main-tained continuously since that date except for certain intervals whenan observer was not available or when the gage equipment had beenwashed away by flood. The records of the flow at this station areof particular value, as the waters are entirely used in the lower val-leys for irrigation, and at this point the river affords some excep-tional advantages for water-power dev
