The grain commis-sion business this year hasbeen enormous. It was lastyear, according to SecretarySturtevant, of the Chamberof Commerce, double whatit was a year ago. Thetransactions in the Chamberfor the last three months oflast year averaged over $1,-000,000 per day. The restof the year the amount wasalso much larger than lumber, of course, hasbeen jobbed by the manu-facturers and mill men, andis as much entitled to beconsidered in the jobbing total as groceries or dry goodsThe grand total is given in the following summary:. Counting the various branches, there are twenty-seven or twenty-eight railroads running into andout of Minneapolis. The amount of business doneat this point, however, has been very large, as will appear from the following table, sliowing the numberof cars received and shipped from December i, 87, to December i, 88:
