Wigan, Lancashire, UK. 17th December, 2015. The World Pie Eating Championships at Harry’s Bar in Wigan, Wallgate. The winner, Martin Appleton is the person who managed to eat a standard pie fastest. Martin scored an impressive seconds. The pies are 12cm in diameter and cm deep with a beef and potato filling. The competition, held exactly at Pie Noon saw contestants attempting to consume Wigan’s most famous contribution to cuisine as fast as possible to take home the title of World Champion and lift the Bradley Piggins Trophy.
