Douro Valley, Portugal - 11 April 2017 Pal‡cio de Mateus, is an unusual 18th Century baroque palace located in Mateus, in the Douro Valley municipality of Vila Real in Portugal. As well as housing a large collection of paintings, furniture and books, it is graced by an unusually fine formal and landscaped garden. It was built for the Mourao family, who still live there today.
