The switch isdouble-throw, especially intended for operating hand blocksignals, and will satisfactorily break 600 volts. A springis so fitted between the switch blade and handle that it givesa quick break, making the switch very positive in actionand impossible to be held on a dead center. This switch is made in two types, with either a perma-nent handle extending below the switch, or with a specialkey. The special key type of switch has the particular ad-vantage that it can only be operated by a person having theproper key.
