A yawning hippopotamus (Hippopotamus amphibius) in the Chobe river between Namibia and Botswana. Although these animals are gregarious and often live in big groups, they are not very social animals and often fight amongst each other. These animals, which are mainly herbivorous, account for many deaths of humans in Africa, as they are predominantly active at night and forage on land, often killing people who unexpectedly encounter them in poorly lit rural areas.
