WhiteCrested White ducks are pure white throughout with crests ofsoft feathers growing on their heads. Some years ago the Indian Runners were heralded as rivalsof the Pekins as general purpose and market ducks. They weretaken up by a number of well-known duck growers but were not DUCKS. 89 found satisfactory for the purpose. They are much smaller thanthe Pekins, the Standard calling for a weight of only four anda half pounds in the drake and four pounds in the duck. Theyare, however, excellent layers, probably the best of the duckfamily. In color they are white on the upper part of neck, lowerpart of body and points of wings. In other sections they are alight fawn color approaching gray. The smallest of Standard ducks are the White and GrayCall and East India, these bearing the same relation to ducks asdo bantams to A Prize Winning Toulouse Gander. .^\\ V; v,V^ 0Sy
