The cone of dispersion made by theshot is influenced naturally by all of the foregoing, viz., the distance,size and number of the shot, the amount of propellant, etc. Close-range shots are marked by total destruction of tissues, laceration, 112 GUNSHOT WOUNDS hematoma and fracture of bone with extensive comminution, and by-perforation and lodgment of individual pellets (Figs. 81 to 84).
