It is ofrecent development and is based upon the work-ingmans recognition of the principle of thesolidarity of labor; the principle that laborsinterests are everywhere essentially the same,and that an injury to one is an injury to sympathetic strike is usually undertaken byworkingmen employed by the same employer asthe original strikers; or against an employer insome direct relationship with the employer of theoriginal strikers, as competitor, buyer or seller,or co-operating. In this way their actionhas direct economic effect on the question atissue, as well as the more general and less tan-gible effect of sympathy.
