The Eastern Question. Serbian-Turkish Wars (1876-1878). Serbia declared war on the Ottoman Empire on June 30, 1876. Egypt, Alexandria. Ismail Pasha (1830-1895), Khedive of Egypt and Sudan from 1863 to 1879, sent an army corps of soldiers to the Constantinople government as reinforcement of the troops in the war against the principalities of Serbia and Montenegro.
