In addition to visiting the GreekTheater, the quarry prisons of the ill-fatedAthenians, and the Fountain of Arethusa, wedrive to distant Fort Euryselus from whose loftytowers we can trace, in the loveliest landscapein Sicily, the moves in that fateful Syracusancampaign which cost Athens her empire. June 13-14. Taormina. This is the scenicclimax of travel in Sicily, the double view from r~-. Corinth ; a Ruin that St. Paul saw the Theater of Taormina being justly famed asthe finest in the world. The hardier will findtime to climb to Mola, that seems to look downon Taormina from among the stars. An extra day is allowed here to meet unex-pected exigencies. The party is free to arrivea day later or leave a day earlier than herescheduled. June 15. Crossing to Greece. June 16-17. The Peloponnesus. Time maypossibly permit a stop at sandy Pylos andSphacteria, where Sparta suffered her firstgreat humiliation. Then we enter the Gulf ofMessenia for the excursion to the wonderful ruinsof the ancient city and its great citadel, From this point there will be an opportunityfor the hardier to cross the mountains to thescanty ruins of Sparta, while the rest contentthemselves with a sail up into the Gulf of Laconia. June 18. Knossos. Crossing to Crete, wevisit the ruins of the Palace of King Minos, the 16
