Boys having a cooking lesson in a traditional members only Basque influenced all male cooking club, Itsasburu, San Sebastian, Spain. First started in San Sebastian in the 1870's they began as regular mens clubs. The development of txokos has had a significant impact on Basque cuisine. Many traditional dishes have been rescued or resurrected by txokos which would have otherwise died out.
